Print it, deal it out, play it. Each file is a fictional investigation dossier — scene report, forensic findings, a site plan, four suspect statements and the evidence. No page tells you who did it. Finding the killer is your job.
Meridian Observatory, 3,900 metres up, mid-January. A four-hour exposure runs all night. By morning the director lies dead at the foot of the dome stairs and it looks like a fall — but the telescope that spent the night recording the sky recorded something else as well.

Opening night at the Orpheum Theatre. Six hundred people in the house and a twenty-minute interval. When the bell rings for the second act the director does not return to his box — he is lying in it, killed with the stage dagger that was supposed to be blunt.

Hand out the suspect pages, one per player, and let each person defend their suspect. Keep the evidence pages in the middle where everyone can see them. Argue for 30–40 minutes, then everyone votes in secret.
You can read the files on a phone, tablet or laptop. Printing is not required — it is just more fun with the documents spread out on a table.
